Accused shooter in Paterson murder ordered detained in jail

An accused shooter in an alleged coordinated assault in a Paterson avenue corner that claimed the lifetime of a Newark guy has been requested detained in jail.

Mick Cadet, 20, of Paterson, was purchased detained in the Passaic County Jail previous Wednesday. He is the seventh individual arrested in the May 1, 2021 murder of 21-calendar year-previous Jose Figueroa of Newark at the intersection of Totowa and Redwood avenues in Paterson.

Cadet is one particular of the 5 alleged shooters, in accordance to authorities. He has been billed with murder and weapons offenses.

“There’s no evidence my consumer was in possession of a weapon,” explained community defender Scott Finkenauer through the court hearing. “All they have is that my customer was current.”

“There is proof,” mentioned senior Passaic County assistant prosecutor Jorge Morales. He explained there are online video recordings that demonstrate Cadet was pushed to the place and dropped him off on Sherman Avenue.

Cadet and Ismael Leon, 19, of Paterson, have been dropped off in the area by Chelsee Ramirez, 19, of Paterson.

Leon and Ramirez each had been arrested and billed with murder.
