A Scottish girl was discovered lifeless whereas behind held in custody awaiting trial at a jail in Stirling.
Elizabeth Holmes, 27, from Paisley, was discovered by jail officers on August 14 at ladies’s jail HMP YOI Cornton Vale whereas she awaited trial for prices together with assaulting a police officer and threatening and abusive method.
The Scottish Jail Service (SPS) have suggested Police Scotland on the matter.
Police say her loss of life shouldn’t be being handled as suspicious however that enquiries are ongoing.

SPS confirmed {that a} Deadly Accident Inquiry can be held ‘sooner or later’.
‘Elizabeth Holmes, 27, a prisoner from HMP YOI Cornton Vale has died on August 14, 2022,’ the assertion learn. ‘She was remanded at Paisley Sheriff Court docket in 2022.
‘Police Scotland have been suggested and the matter reported to the Procurator Fiscal. A Deadly Accident Inquiry can be held sooner or later.’
A Police Scotland spokesperson added: ‘At 3am on Sunday, August 14, officers have been referred to as to HMP Cornton Vale, Stirling, following studies of a sudden loss of life.
‘A 27-year-old girl was pronounced lifeless on the scene. Her loss of life shouldn’t be being handled as suspicious, and inquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.
‘A report can be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal sooner or later’.
