Madeleine McCann case: New evidence found as German prosecutor is ‘sure’ suspect killed British girl

A German prosecutor has explained he is “sure” that Madeleine McCann – the British lady who disappeared from a vacation resort in Portugal in 2007 at the age of three – was killed by suspect Christian Brückner.

Hans Christian Wolters, who is investigating the circumstance, told Portuguese broadcaster CMTV on Tuesday that investigators had identified “new evidence” that connects Brückner, who is a convicted rapist and kid intercourse abuser, to the child’s disappearance. Brückner is however to be charged.

“The investigation is nonetheless heading, and I imagine we observed some new points, some new evidence, not forensic evidences, but some proof,” Wolters explained to the broadcaster.

“We are certain he is the assassin of Madeleine McCann,” he stated.

Wolters was speaking on the 15th anniversary of the disappearance of Madeleine – who was also affectionately regarded by the title Maddie – from a holiday getaway vacation resort in Praia da Luz, in the Algarve region, on May perhaps 3, 2007.

She went missing from a resort home during the night, although her mother and father, Kate and Gerry McCann, have been eating at a nearby restaurant.

In a statement released on April 22, soon after Portuguese and German officials named Brückner as the official suspect in the scenario, Kate and Gerry McCann said they “welcomed” the information, as it indicated “progress” in the investigation.
